Citizen Science

The Citizen Science project will produce an integrated cost-effective environmental monitoring programme and use wildlife club members and community environmental workers as citizen scientists to monitor key environmental and wildlife features of the North Rupununi District of Guyana.

The monitoring project will educate and build the capacity of participants and community members as they collect important data for local resource management. The Makushi communities of the North Rupununi will establish a series of sites for a wildlife monitoring.

Sponsors

The Citizen Science Project is supported by the Audubon Society Citizen Science initiative and underwritten by a generous five-year grant from the Ford Motor Company. It is conducted in partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency and the North Rupununi District Development Board (NRDDB).
