Communications
Ecotourism is one of the important components of Iwokrama’s strategy for financial self sufficiency
Research Strategy
Effective communication is central to Iwokrama’s mission — ensuring that our work, results, and impact reach stakeholders, partners, communities, and the wider public. Our communications activities include public relations, participation in key events, and the creation of targeted awareness materials.
Public Relations
We maintain transparent and consistent communication with our partners, donors, and the public through regular reporting and official updates. Our public relations work highlights key achievements, shares progress, and promotes ongoing initiatives.
Activity Reports (AR’s): Annual publications that present our progress, research outcomes, conservation actions, financials, and partnerships.
Press Releases (PR’s): Timely announcements about major milestones, project launches, collaborations, and recognitions.
Conferences & Events
Participation in conferences, workshops, and community events is a key part of our outreach. These platforms allow us to share research findings, engage with stakeholders, promote conservation education, and strengthen partnerships.
Engagement in national and international conferences and stakeholder meetings
Organisation of training workshops and educational events (e.g., Natural Resource Management Workshop, Forest Botany Training)
Presence at special events like the Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay and the Guyana Tourism Awards
Posters & Brochures
We design and distribute educational and promotional materials that support our outreach and awareness efforts. These materials help communicate our research, conservation work, and tourism offerings to a broad audience.
Development of informational posters and brochures for events, schools, and communities
Production of infographics (e.g., climate and water connectivity project with Heriot Watt University)
Support materials for Wildlife Clubs, forest monitoring, and tourism awareness campaigns
