Partner network

One of Iwokrama’s major strengths is its capacity to collaborate in the management of the Iwokrama Forest. The management of the Forest includes support from several stakeholders including local communities, Government of Guyana, and private sector. To fulfil its mandate, Iwokrama also relies on the support of donors who provide much needed resources.

EXXON Mobil Foundation Coastal

With help from Environmental Management Consultants Inc., the program focuses on marine awareness, ecosystem restoration, community support, and livelihood projects.

EXXON Mobil Foundation Hinterland

Exxon Mobil Foundation supports Iwokrama via the Guyana Conservation Initiative, managed by EMC Inc. The project focuses on marine awareness, ecosystem restoration.

ACTO

Iwokrama partners with ACTO and GWCMC to develop Management Plans for key Amazonian species, including tortoises, caimans, and lowland tapir.

BIOPAMA

Iwokrama received funding from Biopama for the project ‘Improve infrastructure and capacity for monitoring and community development within Iwokrama Forest’. The grant supported monitoring equipment and ranger training.

RENFORESAP

Iwokrama reviewed tourism in the three Guianas under the RENFORESAP project, led by the French Guiana Amazonian Park. The focus was on ecotourism near protected areas and preserving cultural heritage.

REPSOL

Repsol Exploración Guyana, S.A. supported Iwokrama’s outreach by providing school supplies to Fair View Primary and Surama Schools, developing outreach materials, and enhancing solar capacity.
