The Iwokrama Forest provides an unparalleled natural learning environment where we offer dynamic, hands-on training programmes designed to build capacity in sustainable natural resource management.
Training & Courses Individually-designed
Trainees and researchers are given the opportunity to explore unique attractions such as the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway, Turtle Mountain, Ancient Petroglyphs sites, Forestry operations and authentic Indigenous cultural experiences.
Through a blend of classroom learning and immersive field experiences, participants gain practical skills to contribute to conservation and sustainable forest management, locally and globally.

The Iwokrama Forest is one of the most thoroughly researched ecosystems in Guyana. It serves as a vibrant, living laboratory for scientific inquiry, hosting studies on biodiversity, climate resilience, archaeology, and more.
Our research program actively welcomes local and international researchers and encourages collaboration with academic institutions to share knowledge and advance best practices in sustainable forest and natural resource management.
